Behind the Keyboard - Welcome To The New Age Profile

I'm sorry I haven't posted lately, as in about three weeks and I'll explain why, later in the post.

This post will not be about any idol groups this time as I am starting to overwhelm myself with too many at once.

This is a kind of Behind The Music thing as I will discuss who I am and what made me start a idol blog. Also, I will share some of my opinions regarding the idol world and show you what I've been watching and who I've been liking. It is kind of a ramble, just warning.

Who Are You?

Name: Tyler Draper
Birthdate: May 2nd, 1991
Color: Red
Hometown: Bethany, Oklahoma USA

My hometown is technically a suburb of Oklahoma City.

I do have a job outside of this blog, which is being in the backroom of the retail giant Wal-Mart. I can't complain about my job because it pays my bills.

When Did You Start Listening To Idol Groups?

Back in early April 2014, I was in the midst of watching YouTubers react videos and I saw one that was for the group BABYMETAL. I watched the video about three times that day and then decided to check out the groups videos. Not knowing of what was to come, I blew it off and went back to listening to the radio. After watching BABYMETAL videos and showing them to friends and co-workers and thinking how cool it was, I started looking for more.
That day in early April really has changed my life for the better. I was going through a rough patch in my life at that time, because I hated my job and I was in the midst of a mini-depression state and BABYMETAL and J-POP pulled me through to the point I'm at right now, which is usually happiness.

What Made You Start To Blog About Idols?

I honestly don't know how long ago it was, but while on Facebook, I kept seeing this guy post again and again on Sakura Gakuins' Facebook posts and I sent him a friend request. At that time, I did not know he had a blog. As I checked him out even further (accidental creeper status) I saw a post he made about Sakura Gakuin. I read it and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
As time went along and while listening to other groups, I made up my mind to blog. I am on the creative side and I don't have a lot of confidence in all reality, so this is my way of being outgoing. Anyways, I accredit him to helping me start a idol blog. I will leave his blog link at the bottom of the article.

Idol Group Issues (My Opinions)

Issue No. 1: Dating in Idol Groups

I understand some fans points of views when it comes to this subject. I for one don't mind them being able to date. It may hurt a little bit to see you're favorite member go out with a regular person or another artist, but they can't be kept away for long. I can't imagine the feelings of leaving a idol group and have never been out on a date with a guy and the awkwardness associated with that.

Issue No. 2: No Official Website

Recently I have come into this problem where a group will only have a Ameba blog page and that is it. I mean, come on, is it that hard to make a website about the group. (Sorry groups I just singled out)

Issue No. 3: Profile Wonderings

There are some groups out there, that when you check out their profile, the members would only have the birth month and day but not the year. Most of us bloggers just want to know how old you are without the guessing game.

Issue No. 4: Oshimens

As mentioned in my Iris post, I have a oshimen of the group. What a oshimen to people who are new to idol groups are your favorite member(s). I honestly do not have a problem with them but some people do because you're saying you only support this member but not the whole group. I support the whole group to the best of my abilities and I still can care about my favorite member(s). I don't spend every waking moment of my life obsessing over just one person like others do. I like the certain members because of how they dance, sing and obviously how they look. I do think they are pretty but I wouldn't consider them to be sexy.

AKB48

I honestly do not like AKB48 but I like their sister groups such as SKE48 and HKT48. Even though some members of the sister groups are part of the AKB senbatsu or sensokyu, I do not support AKB in particular.

I think AKB is way too overrated (views drop right here).

AKB Sister Groups Oshimen

I have about three sister group oshimens:

No. 1: Matsumura Kaori - SKE 48/AKB48 concurrent role - Born January 17th, 1990

She may look goofy and act goofy sometimes but I think she is great. She has the talent and the looks, even though she is considered ugly to some. In the first season of SKE Ebisho, her and other member Tani have to hitchhike from Hokkaido all the way back to SKEs' theater in Nagoya. In one of the episodes she reveals how low her confidence and how she feels about herself and I found it stunning that I felt the same way. Her is that video.

No. 2: Ikoma Rina - Nogizaka46/AKB48 concurrent role (Team B) - Born December 29th, 1995

Ikoma is originally from Nogizaka46 but after a shock in the elections she decided to have a concurrent role in AKB to the dismay of Nogi fans. Ms. Rina to me is like a darkhorse. She came from a rivalry group and has had to over come a lot of adversity on her way to where she is at now. Now she is not my Nogizaka46 oshimen though. I will show you my top five from that group. Check out this video to see her journey.

No. 3: Okada Nana - AKB48 Team 4 member - Born November 7th, 1997

Okada is known as the serious idol because she is super serious about what she does. I respect her a lot and I hope to see a bright future from her. Check out this video that describes it all.

Nogizaka46

I honestly right now would consider myself to be crazy about Nogizaka46. From watching countless episodes of their variety shows Nogibingo and Nogizaka tte doko? to watching their music videos over and over annoying countless people along the way with my blabbering about them.

My top three oshimen for the group are as follows;

No. 1: Mahiro Kawamura - Undergirls - Born July 23rd, 1995

Kawamura to me is the most amazing member to me. She has the looks, the singing ability and can dance like no other. I can say I have a massive crush on her. Check out this video from Nogibingo showcasing her talent.

No. 2: Matsui Rena - SKE48 Team E /Nogizaka46 concurrent role - Born July 27th, 1991

Rena is a one of a kind idol. She has the looks, can sing plus dance. Just recently she climbed the list of my oshimen. I really want her to succeed in Nogi46 and hopefully a great career out of it. Here is her inaugural Nogibingo episode.

No. 3: Nagashima Siera - Nogizaka46 - Born May 19th, 1994

Siera-chan to me is a all around girl. Enough said. No video for her though. You just get picture. Sorry. I couldn't find a suitable one.

Why You No Post Lately?

With there being a lot of idol groups out there, it is hard to choose one to write about. So I've been researching groups over and over to find videos and member information that it started to take its toll on my mind.

In my personal life, I have a opportunity I want to take but I'm being very indecisive about it. Since I work at Wal-Mart, they have a lot of stores globally. I have been interested in going to Japan since I started listening to groups and I want to transfer to one over there. I've done my research and figured out the costs but it seems to be I keep having a battle in my own mind of whether to go or not. The people around me have given me support, mostly co-workers, bless them all. I don't want to waste this chance and not go and have the 'what-if?" situation. So as a reader, I would love to hear your two cents about this matter.
