New Age Idols

Image Courtesy: Official Twitter The past few months I have written about some of my favorite groups. I had known of those groups for quite some time. This month will be a little different. I want to introduce a group that, just only a few months ago, came onto the music scene.  Since their debut, they have been on constant rotation in my playlists.   This dance and vocal group shouldn't be missed! Shall we go on a journey and explore more about HAKUAKI?  Group Information HAKUAKI made their debut on March 11, 2021 with a one-man live operation at Hatsudai DOORS.  The meaning of the name HAKUAKI confused me a little bit when I was doing research.  To be honest, I thought it meant something else in Japanese. I did some translation skills and it brought up the Kanji for Cretaceous. It was period around the dinosaur times. That didn't make any sense for the name to be that. After perusing the group's Twitter, the meaning is actually Hack A Kingdom. It makes more se...

Photo Courtesy: Official Twitter There are a lot of things about idols that I like. Their personalities. The fact that sometimes they don't give a darn or can be super hyper about anything. Their cuteness and beauty. It is hard to distract yourself from that sometimes. They are also hard working. They put in hours upon hours of practice as well as performing for all of us fans to enjoy and receive our love in return. Other times, maybe being an idol isn't a full time job. They may work at normal office jobs or attend school side by side with a fan or two. Who really knows? (They probably do...) This group is all of these in a nutshell. So today, I wanted to discuss a dark horse idol group that I have been a fan of for about six or so months. That group is Priamo (プリアモ). Will you go on this journey with me and maybe discover a new favorite? Group Information Priamo, often stylized as プリアモ, debuted on September 29th, 2019. They are under the affiliation SYL Entertainment. SYL a...

Photo Courtesy: Official Twitter (May 2021) What is something sweet that you can think of? Maybe a funnel cake? Maybe your significant other? There are quite a few things to be honest.  Yet today, I want to discuss a group that has a sweet spot of both being an orthodox idol and also having a variety of personalities. Let's take a trip down the lane and learn about the group, Sweet Alley.    Group Information Sweet Alley or stylized as スイアレ, was formed in 2019 through a project with Twin Planet agency to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Tokyo Idol Festival on August 4th, 2019. The group is currently under the aforementioned agency, Twin Planet. Their agency also supports a lot of other groups such as High Spirits, Dreaming Monster, and Akishibu Project to name a few. The original group consisted of six members but one member was let go in May 2020. As of April 2021, the group currently boasts seven members with differing personalities.  They have not released any si...

Ladies and Gentlemen, may I have your attention for a few minutes. Can I introduce you to a new brand of idol.  The groups name is ノタル  or notall in English.  I have been a fan of this group for about six years at the time of this update. I am sorry for such a long pause in this renewal. Things have changed since I last updated this back in 2016, such as a member graduating, the addition of a few new members and a lot more music.  Since the time of the original writing, notall exploded on the scene and performed in Paris, they have performed their own stage show, and have a lot of support from various countries around the globe. Included in this update will remain the original interview I did with the original four members back in May 2015. Let's begin on this journey once again. Group Information The group was debuted in June 2014 under WALLOP Entertainment. They are an idol group that uses social media to their advantage to help produce their music a...
